Studies show that US coverage is Israeli-centric. The main bureaus for CNN, Associated Press, Time, etc. are located in Israel and often staffed by Israelis. The son of the NY Times bureau chief is in the Israeli army;"pundit" Jeffrey Goldberg served in the IDF; Wolf Blitzer worked for AIPAC. Because the U.S. gives Israel over $8 million/day - more than to any other nation - we feel it is essential that we be fully informed on this region. Below are news reports to augment mainstream coverage.

Israeli forces kill Palestinian in West Bank

BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces shot and killed a Palestinian man Friday evening in the northern West Bank during clashes with soldiers and settlers, medics said.

Issam Odeh, 33, was killed during clashes in the village of Qusra, near Nablus, medics said.

According to locals in the village, settlers arrived at the scene and clashed with Palestinian youths. Israeli forces arrived later, and both soldiers and settlers were seen firing weapons amid the clashes.

An Israeli military spokeswoman had no immediate comment.

[Israeli settler attacks against Palestinian villages have escalated recently as a reaction to the Palestinian Authority's bid for membership in the UN.]
