Studies show that US coverage is Israeli-centric. The main bureaus for CNN, Associated Press, Time, etc. are located in Israel and often staffed by Israelis. The son of the NY Times bureau chief is in the Israeli army;"pundit" Jeffrey Goldberg served in the IDF; Wolf Blitzer worked for AIPAC. Because the U.S. gives Israel over $8 million/day - more than to any other nation - we feel it is essential that we be fully informed on this region. Below are news reports to augment mainstream coverage.

Israeli forces injure 5 Palestinian demonstrators

RAMALLAH (Ma’an) -- Five Palestinians were injured by rubber bullets and dozens inhaled tear gas on Wednesday as demonstrations took place at Qalandia checkpoint, near Ramallah.

Dozens of young Palestinians demonstrated at the checkpoint near Ramallah to show support for the Palestinian UN bid. Israeli soldiers responded with tear gas and rubber bullets, before firing live ammunition to disperse demonstrators, a Ma'an correspondent said.

Palestinian youth threw stones at the soldiers, a Ma'an reporter said, as Israeli forces gave chase to demonstrators as they tried to evade tear gas canisters and rubber bullets.

Thousands rallied Wednesday across the occupied West Bank, as Palestinians called on the United States to back down from its threats to veto Palestine's bid for membership in the UN.
